George & Martha

Ah, George and Martha, written and illustrated by James Marshall, published by Houghton Mifflin Company. The man's a genius I tell you. This book comes with 5 short stories about these two best friends, but you can also find compilation editions of all of George and Martha's stories, which I recommend since the five go much too quickly. The above illustrations are from the very first, where Martha makes George a bunch of split pea soup, and George decides he has had enough of it, which is the last illustration with him dumping his bowl into his loafers.
